IELTS, or the International English Language Testing System, is a standardized test designed to assess the language proficiency of individuals who wish to study, work, or migrate in English-speaking environments.
IELTS offers two types of tests: Academic and General Training. The Academic module is for those pursuing higher education, while the General Training module is typically used for immigration and work-related purposes.

IELTS scores are reported on a scale of 0 to 9, known as the IELTS band scale. Each section (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) receives a separate band score, and the overall band score is an average of these individual scores.

The total test time for both the Academic and General Training modules is 2 hours and 45 minutes. The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections are completed in one sitting, while the Speaking test may be conducted on the same day or up to a week before or after the other modules.
